Senate lawmakers next week are expected to grill automotive executives and the acting head of the federal agency overseeing roadway safety on lagging repairs to potentially lethal air bags.

Heidi King, the deputy administrator currently running the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, is among the witnesses set to face questions from a Senate panel during a planned March 20 hearing on unprecedented recalls of rupture-prone Takata Corp. air bags, a congressional aide said.
