Nissan has taken the wraps off its Armada ‘Mountain Patrol’ overlanding concept, as part of the Overland Expo West in Arizona, USA.
Based on the US-market Nissan Armada – known here and in other regions as the Patrol – the adventure-seeking project vehicle sports an array of enhancements including a roof-mounted tent, heavy-duty coil-over suspension, extended A-arms, 17-inch Icon Rebound wheels with Nitto Ridge Grapplers 35/12.25 off-road tyres, and a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system.
There’s also rock sliders, a tailgate-mounted spare tyre, heavy-duty steel bumpers, a roof-mounted LED light bar, bumper-mounted fog-lights and wheel-arch lighting – all to make exploration off the beaten track a little easier.
“For those family adventure fans who aren’t familiar with the term ‘overlanding’, all they need to do is look at the Armada Mountain Patrol to understand that this is not ‘glamping’, not a day trip to the local forest – it’s adventure taken to new heights,” said Brandon White, director of Nissan North America.
