Autocar magazine 14 February – out now

This week’s big news – BMW has revealed the new X4 to the world, with a fresh fight against the Range Rover Evoque and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé.

Making news this week, we’ve got all the details on the new Lancia Stratos, brought back to life by bespoke car maker Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT). Just 25 will be made.

Not accessible enough? Nissan’s bringing a new Z car to market with 475bhp, a V6 and four-wheel drive. Find out more in this week’s magazine.

Want reviews? We’ve tested the Audi A7 Sportback in 50 TDI guise, and we’ve also had a go in a prototype Kia Ceed. We came away impressed.

As SUVs continue to take over, we’ve had a go in two of them – the Toyota Land Cruiser 2.8 D4-D, and the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross 3 AWD.

Our full road test this week, though, is the Audi RS4 Avant. Take a read of Audi’s latest hot estate car, and find out if it can kick the Mercedes-AMG C63 estate from the top of the pile.

Our features this week include a marathon stint in the Skoda Karoq, the man behind the original Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the history of diesel and the not-so-small world of radio-controlled cars.

Our cars

We say a teary farewell to the Suzuki Ignis – a car which has charmed its way into the hearts of many of our staffers. We’re also still finding new features on the jam-packed Mercedes-benz E-Class estate, while we find practical touches in our new Honda Civic Type R.

What’s the best Mercedes-Benz you can buy for £3000? James Ruppert takes us through his picks. Meanwhile, our used car buying guide takes you through how to bag a Ford Puma without getting bitten.
