2019 Suzuki Jimny spied camouflage free

The next-generation Suzuki Jimny has been caught again without any camouflage, but these latest photos were taken at much closer range, allowing us to see more details of the new SUV.

Posted on Instagram by user SuzukiInfluencer, this lime green Jimny was briefly exposed to the elements during a preview event.

Unlike today’s car, the new Jimny has an unashamedly retro flavour with a black grille and headlight surround, as well as plain black bumpers for this, presumably, entry-level model.

Compared to earlier spy photos taken in Europe, as well as earlier leaks, this model doesn’t feature wheel arch extensions or protectors. This is likely to keep the vehicle in compliance with domestic kei-class rules. If so, the car seen here will be powered with by 660cc engine.

For export markets, including our own, we expect the Jimny to feature larger and chunkier bumpers, wheel arch flares, extended side mouldings, and a wider track.

Reports indicate overseas models will be powered by either a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated engine or a more powerful 1.0-litre turbo.
